It is difficult to determine how many paintings were painted from
The Little Shop studio, Woodward considered a 'retreat' from the norm. Woodward owned the
studio some time during his tenure at the Hiram Woodward studio and throughout the rest
of his life, including the Southwick and
Heath Pasture studios.
The farm (barn) in the distance is the same seen in When The Sun
Rides Low, and Under The Hill with Purinton Hill in the distance.
Purinton Hill is featured in numerous paintings by Woodward, including, Winter Dignity,
and Snow Symphony.
This painting is not signed or named. We thank its current owner for their time and effort getting us the
wonderful picture you see above.
