To the right: The large black Italian plate was rescued from the 1934 Hiram Woodward studio fire. It had a special cove in the wall to display it in the Southwick Studio right next to the north window. We do not know when the plate chipped.

Other items also survived the Hiram Woodward fire, including the red skaters lamp featured in My Winter Shelf, the couple on a bench statue in My Grandmother's Lamp, as well as, the decorative green-blue bottle...
