Green Bottle and the Barn Sepia

"Painted winter of 1945-6. One of the most unusual and decorative window pictures I ever made. A section of the studio north window, philodendron plant, green bottle with porcelain horse silhouetted against bottle etc. on shelf. Gould's gray barn and mountains in snow outside. Exhibited at Jordan Marsh and at Manchester, Vt., only, but strangely not sold at either place. Bought from the studio in Nov. 1946, to be given her husband at Christmas by Mrs. Lucius E. Potter of 87 Franklin Street, Greenfield, MA."
