Additional Notes

This is believed to be a painting of Mr. Franklin's House (to the right). It is unknown if it is similar in perspective.

There is also the painting Out of New England Soil, 1932 of similar size and subject painted around the same time. This would also be the time period when Woodward stops making his large 40 x 50 paintings preferring the size 36 x 42 instead.

The meaning of BENEDICTION is the invocation of a blessing; especially : the short blessing with which public worship is concluded, making this an interesting title - the last painting of the old Putney Place in Richmond, NH and one of his last 40 x 50 paintings.
