Neither crayons or chalkdrawing were included in Woodward's painting diaries.
This is a crayon drawing found in one of Robert Strong Woodward's sketch books. It is unsigned and unnamed. The
house and driveway are located on the same street as the Woodward home and studio in Buckland Center.
There are just a couple crayons in Woodward's catalog. There are just 3 that we are aware of and one we suspect is
mis-catagorized as a crayon and is really a chalk. All of them are under what RSW considers professional sized. (23 inches plus). While they are wonderful, they should
not be considered part of his professional work. We believe he is either experimenting with the medium, or making them as gifts for people. Something he frequently
did in watercolor and on occasion oil.
