A topographical map of the view from the
farm to Ashfield Mountain noting the stone wall.

The farm from which RSW drew this chalk drawing was once owned by Lucien Sanderson of New Haven, CT as a summer retreat he called the "Wild Rest" Farm. It is situated in Hawley, MA bordering the Buckland and Ashfield (MA) lines. At the foot of the mountain you get just a glimpse of an apple orchard which still exist to this day.
