Painted from the Burnt Hill pasture in Heath, Mass. It is not much of a reach to view a number of
Beech Tree paintings to see why the pasture high in Heath, MA, got its nickname.
To the right is an image
of High Pastures to illustrate the color of the pasture in reds, yellows, and hints of orange.
Unlike the previous
artwork page, Burnt Hill, this is specifically the pasture itself and so High Pastures
seemed most appropriate. Many of Woodward's other Heath-pastures-only paintings are stark, wintry, cold, snow-covered paintings.
For just pasture paintings we suggest you check out the Pastures Gallery for other views of
Burnt Hill sans the Beech Tree.
