This is an unfinished and unsigned painting made from inside the Heath
Pasture House in about 1940. It views the Beech Tree and the stone patio outside the studio door. It is truely unique among his window paintings, in that, instead of painting from the window as he often did, this unfinished painting
includes the window.
This unfinished painting has always stood alone. It was at one time the ONLY unfinished painting in excellent condition that we were
aware of, that is until November of 2017 when an old shipping crate was found in an attic on the estate and an additional 11 unfinished chalks and oils were discovered. Those 11 unfinished
works of art can be seen at the bottom of the Unnamed Gallery in which this painting resides.
