INFORMATION UPDATE
This is a work in progress. As many of the Woodward oil paintings, chalk drawings and illuminations as could be found are here catalogued with as much additional information possible. We are searching for more examples of his work. If you own or know of any Woodward art will you please send us that information for inclusion on this web site. We are especially searching for color photographs of paintings and hammer prices of those which are sold at auction. You will never be identified as a current owner of a Woodward. There exists a number of oil paintings being sought by individuals primarily for sentimental reasons. One of these is
The Silver Barn, a photograph of which is printed below. The
last known location of this painting was in the western part of the United
States.

The Silver Barn

|
|
| The below barn has been remembered by a person who would
like to know if there is any knowledge of a painting or chalk drawing
having been made of this. If so, would the person who owns it be willing
to sell it?

DOES ANYONE
RECOGNIZE THIS
BARN?
|
| This painting of a barn and
silo across the street from the Robert Strong Woodward studio sold
soon after it was painted to a local business man. He has since died
and a daughter moved to the Midwest taking the painting with her. A
relative of the original owner of the barn is very desirous of
purchasing this painting should it ever come up for sale again. If
anyone knows of its availability, please contact this
site.

The Slanting Silo

This painting of an active
sugar house was painted by Robert Strong Woodward of a sugar house
located across the street from his studio. It has since been torn down
but the surrounding trees are still tapped each spring. The painting
brings back many memories to a boy who helped with the "sugaring off"
60 years or more ago. He would very much like to know the current
location of the painting and whether or not it is available for sale.
If you recognize this image, please contact this site.
The current owner of this
painting is unknown. When or if it should come up for sale or
auction a local family would very much like to purchase it.
Please notify this site. |
